Sandra and Gerald Long November 1977


Sandra Jane was born to Jack and Nadyne
Carlson, 1933 in Aurora, Neb-
raska. She, with her parents, moved to
Mullen, Nebraska in 1935. She attended
school in Mullen and graduated from Hooker
County High School in 1952. Sandra attend-
ed Chadron State College and taught school
in rural Cherry County.

October 23, 1953, she was united in
marriage to Gerald Long, son of Floyd and
Marguerite Long of Mullen, Nebraska. They
lived in Mullen for 25 years where Gerald
worked for the Mullen Co-Op for eight years,
then worked at the Mullen Post Office for 16
years, and also managed the Bowling Alley.
Gerald was appointed Post-master at Hem-
ingford, Nebraska, in 1978.

Sandra was employed at the Bank of
Mullen for 9 years and transferred to the
Guardian State Bank of Alliance, Nebraska
in 1978. Their present home (1987) is Hem-
ingford, Nebraska.

Sandra and Gerald have two daughters and
one son, all graduates of Mullen High School.
Leann Long married Ronald Dooley in 1972,
they have two children, Christine and Mi-
chael. They live in Burns, Wyoming. Leann
works for Mountain West Savings in
Cheyenne, Wyoming and Ronald is in Civil
Service work in Cheyenne.

Darlene Long married William Sherman in
1978. They have two children, Toi and Tevis.
Darlene is a barber and Bill works for
Burlington Railroad. They live in Sterling,
Colorado.

John Long married Rose Mary Sanchez in
1978. They have two children, Ray and
Kristen. John is engineer for a R.S. Bar Foods
and Rose Mary is a paralegal with a law firm.
They live in Clinton, Oklahoma.
