WOLFENDEN - KIME

Two couples married the same day, 1898. Standing: Lizzie (Kime)
and Cyrus Wolfenden. Seated: Laura (Doyle) and Floyd Kime.


Floyd Kime and Laura Doyle were married
in 1898. The Floyd Kime's ranched north of
Mullen, and at one time had a general
merchandise store at the ranch. Floyd died
in 1923 and shortly after Laura moved to
town and raised her family, which consisted
of Mable Knapp, Myrtle Coats, Claude,
Avis Ewoldt, and Hetty Coates. The children
are all now deceased and were all graduates
of Mullen High School. The Ranch was leased
by Jay Coates for a number ofyears, then sold
to Loryn Boyer, and now owned by Jim
Ravenscroft.

Lizzie and Cyrus lived on a ranch west of
Mullen until his death in 1950, when later
Lizzie moved to Mullen for the remainder of
her life. She died in 1971. Their family
consisted of Ruby Wolf, Hazel Coates How-
ard, Robert, Warren, and Erma Cooley. Ruby
and Hazel are still living. These children were
all graduates of Mullen High School. Cyrus
and Lizzie celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in the same house they built after
their wedding in 1899.
