J.E. Lowe Co. 1911

                 1915-1944

When Elliott Lowe took over his father's
business in 1915, he renamed it J.E. Lowe Co.
They no longer carried clothing nor flour. It
was now primarily hardware, building mater-
ials, lumber yard and machinery. J.E. Lowe
later obtained an International Harvester
contract which expanded his operation. By
having the IHC contract meant he would
have their entire line available to sell which
included trucks and tractors. He also obtain-
ed dealership for Pontiac automobiles.

In 1935 Elliott added to the south side of
the building making approximately 5,000 sq.
ft. of floor space. J.E. Lowe continued in
business until 1944 when he sold the business
to his brother, Louis Lowe. Elliott and family
moved to Denver and later to Sheridan, Wyo.
