Hondo Lanes Bowling 1988

Hank Hohlfeld built the Auditorium in
Mullen and put in bowling lanes in the north
part of the building. The Hondo Lanes Inc.
started the winter of 1960-61 under the
ownership of Eva Hager, Don Cox, John
Pearson, and Hank Hohlfeld. Hank sold his
share to the other three the first year.

John and Norma Pearson managed the
lanes the first two seasons and the beginning
of the third season. John sold his share to Eva
Hager and Don Cox at that time. Gerald and
Sandra Long managed the Hondo Lanes for
Eva and Don through May 1970.

During the 1970-71 season, it was managed
by Don Cox and Joe Bader.

Early, during the 1971-72 season, Gerald
and Sandra Long leased the Hondo Lanes
from Eva and Don. They leased and operated
this business through April 1978. Meantime
during the mid-70's, Eva Hager sold her share
to Don Cox.

The lanes were closed for a period of time
and later were opened and Dave Converse
managed the Hondo Lanes for a year. Then
Glen and Joan Garner took over the manage-
ment and have continued to do so at this
period. They have been doing this, now in
their fifth year.

Don Cox still owns the Hondo Lanes.
