Inside of Baldwin Greenhouse - 1985

Baldwin Greenhouses history began in
Antelope Co. at Neligh, NE in 1978. Started
by Raymond and Diane Baldwin, it was then
and still is a family owned and operated
business, selling retail and wholesale.

The greenhouses offer a full range of
annual and perennial flowers, a full range of
vegetables, as well as bushes, trees and all
types of rock garden plants, hanging baskets
and patio planters.

In 1982, the Baldwin's sold the floral shop
part of their business in Neligh, moved back
to their home town, built new greenhouses,
thus Baldwin Greenhouses became a part of
Hooker Co. history with 960 sq. feet of
houses.

In returning to their roots, the Baldwin
Greenhouses offered a service never before
offered in the Mullen area, commercially
available flowers and vegetables.

Baldwin Greenhouses offers part-time
employment to two to 10 employees through-
out the course of the season and has grown
to 2,000 sq. feet of houses.

The Baldwin's added a new service to the
greenhouses in the form of complete lawn and
garden care in 1986.

The greenhouses are located 1 1/4 miles
north of Mullen on the Middle Loup River
and are operated in addition to the ranch the
Baldwin's lease from Marker Ranching of
Lincoln.
