B&D Enterprises - Larry Bostron owner

Larry Bostron came to Mullen, Nebraska,
from Colorado, in 1964. He worked for his
father-in-law, Bill Macke, in the Macke
Hardware, and later worked in the Macke
Grocery Store for Ed Macke.

The business building now known as the B
and D Enterprises was in earlier years the
Mullen Theater operated by the Macke
Brothers, Bill and Butch. Later the theater
was closed, remodeled and Bill and Betty
Macke opened an appliance and service store.
Larry helped in the store and when Bill and
Betty were ready to retire, in 1978, Larry
purchased the business.

Larry carries major brands of household
appliances and offers installation and repair
service. He makes many long trips to the
country to put an ailing appliance back in
working condition.

A store such as Larry operates is a credit
to the town of Mullen. It saves many long,
expensive trips, both in money and time, to
another town for a purchase or service of an
appliance.

Peg and their two daughters, Lynn and
Brenda assist at the store when Larry has
service calls. Bill and Betty step in and help
out when an emergency arises.
