DALY, DANIEL AND DEBORA (HODGES)

Daniel Edgar Daly was born
1951 in North Platte, Nebraska to Byron
Edgar and Wanda Day (Allen) Daly. Dan has
two younger sisters, Gayle Elaine Daly
Downing, married to Donald Joe Downing
and Kristy E. Daly Kramer married to Danny
Ray Kramer. Joe and Gayle Downing of
Mullen have two girls Jillana Jodell and
Nancee Jo. Dan and Kristy Kramer of
Stapleton have three girls Kodi Rae, Kylee
Renee and Kaylee Rachelle.

As a child Dan and his sisters with their
folks lived in Arthur County on some ranches.
After moving to Missouri for a few years they
moved back to Nebraska working in various
places ending up in Stapleton where all three
of the children graduated from High School.
Now Byron and Wanda Daly live at Thedford
where Byron is a Brand Inspector for this
area.

Debora Sue Hodge was born 1952
in North Platte, Nebraska to Ora Oscar
Hodges Jr. and Lois Doreen (Fletcher)
Hodges with an older brother Oscar LeRoy
and a sister Bonnita Faye. Oscar LeRoy
Hodges is married to Peggy Louise Boon and
they have three children Michelle Lea, Justin
Leon and Clinton LeRoy of Stapleton, Neb-
raska. Bonnita Faye Hodges Paxton is
married to James Clarence Paxton with two
boys Johnathan Cuteis and Steven Ray of
Hillsdale, Wisconsin.

Deb with her folks and brother and sister
lived in the Stapleton area where the three
children graduated from High School. Oscar
and Lois along with LeRoy and Peggy live
south of Stapleton on a farm-ranch opera-
tion.

After graduation in May of 1970 Daniel
Edgar Daly and Debora Sue Hodges were
married on December 19, 1970.

Dan worked for a couple of farmer/ran-
chers at North Platte and Curtis area until
June of 1972 when he was hired by the
Nebraska Brand Committee and moved to
Kearney for Dan's training. Deb worked for
Ann's Cut and Curl in Curtis and A.B.C. Drug
in Kearney. In February 1973 Dan was
transferred to Ord, Nebraska and was in
charge of Brand Inspecting in the areas of
Spalding and Ord and helped with Ericson,
Burwell and Loup City.

In March 1974 Dan went to work for an
Auctioneer/Cattle Buyer and land owner,
buying cattle and taking care of cattle for
Stan Nolte of Ord. Deb was employed at
Anderson Pharmacy and Wolf and Nolte
Auctioneers.

In November 1979 Dan and Deb along with
Byron and Wanda Daly leased Dale Robin-
sons ranch west of Thedford until 1984 when
it was sold. At that time Dan worked at
Pearsons Livestock Equipment and Thed-
ford Trading Post for a short time. While in
Thedford Deb worked at several part time
jobs including Thedford Library, Thedford
Livestock, Trading Post, Besley Forest and
was custodian at the Thomas County Court
House for a while.

December 1984 Dan and Deb purchased
the Ballard Machine Shop in Mullen, Neb-
raska from Scott and Mary Lynn Ballard. It
is currently Daly Welding and Machine Shop.

In April 1985 Deb started work as custo-
dian at the Mullen Grade School and later
started training for Village Clerk in Sept.
1987. She will assume the Clerks position in
June 1988.
