HAMPTON, ISOM AND MARY (KIRK)

Isom Soloman Hampton, son of Ephriam
and Sarah Hampton was born May 30,1860,
in Grayson County, Virginia, and was united
in marriage to Mary Emma Kirk of Grayson
County, Virginia on Dec. 25, 1893 and to this
union six children were born, Carlie Curtis,
Ephriam herman and Joseph Glee were born
in Virginia. Wrigh Kirk, blanche Cora and
John Isom were in Oklahoma.

In 1900 Isom moved with his wife and three
sons to Port, Okla. and homesteaded. Here
two sons and a daughter were born, the
daughter died at 2 1/2 years of age. In 1911
Isom moved his family to Lebanon, Missouri,
and later to Phillisburg, Mo. on a farm.

In 1913 Isom came to Nebraska and filed
on a half-section of Kincaid in Cherry
County, that joined his brother-in-law Jones
Kirk north-east of Mullen, Nebr. He built a
small tar paper house with a dirt fioor and on
Dec. 13, 1913, the family arrived in Mullen,
by train. In the spring of 1916, Isom bought
a section of land six miles west of Mullen,
selling the place north east of Mullen to Jones
Kirk. In 1919 they bought two sections of
land north-west of Mullen and Isom fixed up
the house and then moved his family there.
In 1936 moved to Bolivar, Mo. where he
passed away in 1955 at the age of 95.

Carlie married Cammie Morrison in 1927
and to this union six children were born,
Kenneth, Chester, Bruce, Harvey, Peter and
Richard. Peter died at two months. Carlie
died Dec. 9, 1967.

Ephriam married Florence Teachwork in
1919 and to this union five children were
born, Dean, Sylvia, Virginia, Mary and
Violet. ephriam died Jan. 22, 1978.

Joseph Glee married Bula Emra Boyer in
1925, and to this union seven children were
born, Wayne, Stanley, Orvel, Norman, Mary
Luceil, Erma Jean. and Leta Mae.

Wright married Rose Carr in 1926 and to
this union five children were born, Betty,
Emma, Trixie, Judy and Curtis.

John married Marie Potthoff in 1928, and
to this union fourteen children were born,
Roy, Donna, Ivene, Mary, Lester, Jackie,
Shirley, Carlene, Joan, Bonnie, Susan, Bar-
bara, Johnlyn and Margaret.
