Barbara Phillips is the youngest of seven
children born to Lynn and Joellen (Loudon)
Phillips. Shhe was the first baby to use the
isolet in the Pioneer Memorial Hospital at
Mullen.

Barbara attended the Mullen School
system, graduating in 1980. In 1984 she
graduated from Chadron State College, Cha-
dron, Nebraska, with a double major in Agri-
Business and Economics. While in college,
she worked on the college newspaper. She
sold advertisements to the Chadron area
businesses, and laid out the ad copy for those
ads. She also participated in Ag Club (an
organization for people interested in agricul-
ture) and Cardinal Key (a national honorary
sorority).

After graduation, Barbara returned to
Mullen. She is currently working as one of the
bookkeepers for the Mullen Coop.
