John William Ronzzo, was born March 8,
1878, in Fairfield, NE, the youngest of five
boys and five girls. John was the only one
born in America.

Edith Mae Stansbury was born in Edgar,
NE Sept. 13, 1882. She had one sister and
three brothers.

John and Edith were married May 1, 1904,
in DeWeese, NE. They came to Mullen from
Fairfield NE. in 1922, to visit Edith's father,
Joseph Stansbury, who had a ranch in South
Cherry Co. They decided to locate in Mullen,
and lived the rest of their lives here. Edith
died in 1955, and John died in 1966.

Their only daughter, Zilpha Ruby Ronzo,
was born July 13, in DeWeese NE. She
entered Hooker Co. High School in 1922,
graduating in 1925. She was a member of the
United Methodist Church. Zilpha was
married to Ward F. Fosdick Oct 10, 1930, in
Alliance, NE.

John started his barber shop in Mullen in
1922. At one time he owned and operated 2
barbershops here. He retired from barbering
in 1965. John first started barbering in 1900
at Fairfield. He farmed for about 20 years in
that vicinity, then started barbering full time
in 1922. He was joined in his shop by
grandson Franklin Fosdick in the late 1950's.
The shop was located in what is now the
laundromat.
