East "Toby" Anderson Ranch 1931

Tobias, "Toby", Anderson, son of Nels and
Christina Anderson was born on December
25, 1865, at Arvika, Varmland, Sweden. He
came to America with his parents and family
at the age of 5 and spent his first few years
in the vicinity of Bellevue and Wahoo,
Nebraska.

Anna Levine was born June 17, 1870, at
Hogeruds perish, Varmland, Sweden. She
came to America in 1887, settling at Wahoo,
Nebraska.

Both "Toby" and Anna were baptized and
confirmed in the Lutheran faith. They were
united in mirriage in 1888 at Wahoo, Nebras-
ka and to this union two children were born;
Ralph H. and May Belle near Weston,
Nebraska.

They moved to Omaha, Nebraska where
"Toby" was employed in a box factory, living
there until 1904. The family moved to a farm
they purchased in Lincoln County, Nebraska,
22 miles south of North Platte. They lived
there until 1912, they purchased and moved
to a ranch southwest of Mullen Nebraska -
Sec.32, Twp.24, Rng.33. In 1916, they moved
to a western part of their land into one of the
nicer sod homes of the day. It is interesting
to note here, that among their business
papers, that land was selling at $3.50 an acre
and later leased some land at 10 cents per
acre.

During this time, Erik Levine came to
share their home. In 1927, they returned to
the east living quarters to farm and ranch.
They remained there until their death.
"Toby" died April 257, 1946 and Anna died
February 16, 1950. Both are buried in the
family plot in North Platte, Nebraska.

Ralph and May continued to control the
ranch land until they retired in 1951. At the
present time this ranch is owned by Erik
Levine.
