Therese and Ken's wedding May 29, 1987. Virginia Strand, Jim's mother,
Bonnie Connelley, Therese and Ken Ehlers, Janet, Jim and John Connelley.

James Patrick Connelley was born at Hugo
Colorado on 1940 to John and
Virginia Connelley of Wild Horse, Colorado.
Jim grew up on a ranch southwest of Wild
Horse, Colorado. He graduated from Kit
Carson High School in 1958. That fall he
attended college in La Junta, Colorado. He
decided that this was not what he wanted
after going two quarters and came back and
helped his dad on the ranch. In the fall of 1960
he went to Denver and attended an electron-
ics school. In December 1961 his dad died of
a heart attack and he stayed home to help his
mother and younger brother run the family
ranch.

Janet Shirley Holland was born at Hugo,
Colorado on 1945 to the parents of
Pat and Alice Holland. Janet graduated from
Hugo High School in 1963. That summer she
went to California to visit a cousin and stayed
to work in a bank. While back in Colorado for
a vacation, she started dating Jim. They were
married on 1965. They lived on
the Connelley family ranch for a while. In
1967 they purchased Janet's parents ranch at
Boyero, Colorado.

While living in Colorado, they were both
active in the ranching business. Jim was
president of the local stockmans organization
for two years. He also served on the local soil
conservation board for several years. Janet
was president of the local cowbelles organiza-
tion, and also served on the state cowbelles
board.

When the plains of eastern Colorado were
beginning to be plowed and the shortage of
underground water was getting worse, they
began to look for a ranch in Nebraska. July
1984, they purchased the Leonard Ericksen's
Estate from Glen Nutter.

Jim and Janet have three children. Therese
Mae was born 1965, she
graduated from Hugo High School in 1984.
On May 29, 1987 she married Ken Ehlers of
North Platte. Ken is employed at Team
Electronics and Therese is an assistant
manager at Arbys, of North Platte. John
Patrick was born 1967. He
graduated from Mullen High School in 1986
and is a sophomore at University of Nebras-
ka-Lincoln, studying agriculture economics.
Bonnie Sue was born on 1970
and is currently a junior at Mullen High
School.
